Absolute:

• Pacemakers
• Bleeding stomach ulcers
• Implants with electrical components
• Pregnant
• On Cancer / tumor
• Allergic reaction to cream / tube
• Treatment of deep vein thrombosis
• Above-the-heart
• Local pulmonary embolism
• Phlebitis
• Bleeding areas with semi-open or open skin wounds

Caution:

• Patients with reduced skin sensitivity in the treatment area. Patch test if unsure.
• Patients with bacterial inflammation (treatment around the area is possible)
• Diabetes mellitus: Only if the patient has local reduced sensation due to neuropathy
• Other reduced skin sensitivity:
  • Patients who come from the cold outside air
  • Post-operative patients
